A warm welcome awaits

Our friendly and welcoming BeSocial Club provides person-centred care and support, while promoting independence.

The Centre is a special place where members meet during the day to socialise in the company of friends in a safe and inclusive environment that supports the needs of each person. We encourage our members to make their own choices and support them in making those decisions.

The dedicated team is professionally qualified and trained and is helped by caring and kind volunteers.

We’re proud to offer a vital service to those who may feel socially isolated, live with conditions including memory loss, or are frail, elderly and less able to get around. It's an accepted fact that socialising, re-kindling old friendships, making new ones, and taking part in recreational activities can prove a real boost to the quality of life of older people - and our lovely members are living proof of that.

BeSocial@theCentre provides a variety of both stimulating and fun activities that change weekly. We have guest visitors, go on outings, take part in national celebrations and stage themed activities around national events. We hold regular sessions of gentle exercise, craft work, board and card games, music and singing and in the summer we organise trip - by boat, train and coach. We even have our own patio and small garden area where members enjoy those sunny summer days.

Each day members are served a hot, two-course lunch and are encouraged to drink regular refreshments throughout the day, keeping them well-hydrated.

BeSocial@theCentre also offers respite for families and carers who can relax in the knowledge that their loved one is having a day out in safe surroundings and is being well looked after.

Results from our 2019 satisfaction survey show that 100% of our members and their families would recommend us to others.

More than 40 of our members and their families completed the survey which covered areas such as activities, staff, service, transport and food.

We were rated as 'very good' in all categories by nearly all of our members who say we are friendly and approachable, that we communicate well, meet their needs and that they thoroughly enjoy their time here.
