If you or someone you know are living with Parkinson's disease, these classes are a great way of enjoying the social side of dancing whilst knowing the exercises are specifically designed to help alleviate some of your symptoms. Warming up with simple hand and foot exercises, before moving on to more energetic numbers; the class includes tongue twisters and an uplifting group dance too. Music ranges from classical to modern. Tutor Sarah Hartley will soon have you moving and grooving. Refreshments are provided afterwards. NB Why not try a taster class first at no cost? And a friend or carer can come along too (and join in!) for a suggested donation of £1 to help cover costs. Contact Sarah on 01242 603207 for more information or email firstname.lastname@example.org
All classes include 15 mins for refreshments and a natter after an uplifting dance session. The session is mainly seated with 15/20minutes of standing/travelling work at the end. However all the movement that is done standing is adapted for those individuals who wish to remain seated. Everyone is encouraged to go at their own pace. We cover a range of dance styles and the aim is to take part for the joy that dancing brings.
