Tuesdays - 11am - 12.30pm Priors Park Community Church, Queens Rd, Priors Park, Tewkesbury GL20 5EY (includes refreshments at the end)

Wednesdays - 2pm - 3pm Salem Baptist Church, 129 St Georges Rd, Cheltenham GL50 3EQ (currently no refreshments due to venue Covid policy)

If you or someone you know are living with Parkinson's disease, these classes are a great way of enjoying the social side of dancing whilst knowing the exercises are specifically designed to help alleviate some of your symptoms. Warming up with simple hand and foot exercises, before moving on to more energetic numbers, the class includes tongue twisters and an uplifting group dance too. Dancing can help with balance, posture and fluidity of movement as well as making you feel good! Music is from a range of genres, from classical to modern to allow for different tempos of dance. Tutor Sarah Hartley will soon have you moving and grooving.

Why not come along for a trial? Your first session will be free of charge, allowing you to get used to the format before you start paying. A friend or carer can come along too (and join in!) for no extra cost, though a donation in the refreshments tin would be appreciated.

Contact Sarah on 01242 603207 for more information or email

Classes usually include 15 mins for refreshments and a natter after an uplifting dance session (though this is currently dependent on the venues' Covid policy).

The session is mainly seated with 15/20minutes of standing/travelling work at the end. However all the movement that is done standing is adapted for those individuals who wish to remain seated. Everyone is encouraged to go at their own pace. We cover a range of dance styles and the aim is to take part for the joy that dancing brings.

**Please note some extra precautions are still in place due to Covid-19 and refreshments are not currently available at all venues. Masks must be worn to enter and leave the building but may be removed for the class. Please arrive 10 mins beforehand to help stagger entry times. **
