Our friendly and welcoming BeSocial Club provides person-centred care and support, while promoting independence for older members of the community.
The Centre is a special place where members meet during the day to socialise in the company of friends in a safe and inclusive environment that supports the needs of each person. We encourage our members to make their own choices and support them in making those decisions.
The dedicated team is professionally qualified and trained and is helped by caring and kind volunteers. Members join us for up to three days a week and enjoy activities & entertainment. It's a chance to socialise, meet new friends (and old ones), and be supported in a welcoming and safe environment with tasty hot lunches and regular refreshments included.
We’re proud to offer a vital service to those who may feel socially isolated, live with conditions including memory loss, or are frail, elderly and less able to get around. It's an accepted fact that socialising, re-kindling old friendships, making new ones, and taking part in recreational activities can prove a real boost to the quality of life of older people - and our lovely members are living proof of that.
BeSocial@theCentre provides a variety of both stimulating and fun activities that change weekly. We take part in national celebrations and stage themed activities around national events. We hold regular sessions of gentle exercise, craft work, games and music. We have our own patio and small garden area where members enjoy those sunny summer days.
Each day members are served a hot, two-course lunch and are encouraged to drink regular refreshments throughout the day, keeping them well-hydrated.
BeSocial@theCentre also offers respite for families and carers who can relax in the knowledge that their loved one is having a day out in safe surroundings and is being well looked after.
Please see our Risk Assessment policy - and the detailed Covid-19 procedures we are following, that are all available on our Useful Links page.
Our Covid-19 Policies and Procedures document gives full details of how we will be running the Centre and supporting our members, staff and volunteers at this time. If you have any questions after reading the information, please get in touch.
